This policy explains how we handle personal data on this website and the choices you have. It covers people who visit huttio.co or get in touch with us.

Who we are

huttio is a trading name of SpectraKey Ltd, the company responsible for the personal data described here. Our registered company details are on our legal page. For anything to do with privacy or your data, email hello@huttio.co.

What we collect, and why

We collect as little as possible. Personal data reaches us in three ways:

Analytics. If you accept cookies, Google Analytics tells us how the site is used — pages viewed, broad location, device type. We rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time; withdrawing it doesn't affect anything collected beforehand.

When you email us. If you get in touch, we use your contact details and message to reply, relying on our legitimate interest in responding to you; where it's about working together, to take steps before a contract.

Technical data. Our hosting provider records standard technical details, such as your IP address and browser, to deliver the site and keep it secure. We rely on our legitimate interest in running a safe, reliable site. It may process this data on servers outside the UK, under the same kinds of safeguards described in the Cookies section.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we've checked this is a fair balance that doesn't override your rights.

Cookies

We keep cookies to a minimum. The site sets no non-essential cookies unless you ask us to.

If you accept analytics, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site, including which pages are viewed, broad location, and device type. Google acts as our data processor and this sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*) in your browser. See Google's privacy policy for how they handle it.

Google sets how long these cookies last, and you can clear them from your browser at any time. Google may process this data on servers outside the UK. Where it does, that transfer is protected by the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (the UK–US “data bridge”), backed by the UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses. We don't use analytics data to identify you.

Analytics only runs after you choose Accept on the cookie banner. Choose Reject and no analytical cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time by using the Cookie settings below.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data or share it for anyone else's marketing. We use a small number of providers to run the site:

  • Google Analytics. Only if you consent
  • Our hosting provider. To serve and secure the site

As the business grows we may add others, such as a customer-relationship (CRM) or booking tool. We'll update this list when we do.

How long we keep it

We don't keep personal data longer than we have a reason to:

  • analytics cookies last for a period set by Google, which you can clear at any time;
  • emails you send us are kept for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and for our ordinary business and record-keeping;
  • technical logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • correct it if it's wrong;
  • delete it, or restrict or object to how we use it; and
  • withdraw your consent to analytics at any time — use Cookie settings in the Cookies section above.

To exercise any of these, email hello@huttio.co. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though we'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.
